What national parks are there in Scotland?
There are 2 national parks in Scotland. The Loch Lomond & the Trossachs and the Cairngorms.
What's the difference between them?
The Loch Lomond National Park has facilities for walking, wildlife watching, cycling, and even playing golf. Since I don't like playing golf, and my teacher can't play golf, we find it completely unnecessary. However we like wildlife watching, walking & cycling along the Loch Lomond National Park. In terms of wildlife watching, we found a good amount of unique animals. And for my teacher, they're the most attractive species is the seal in the wild. I would would like to see a seal in the wild. Amazingly, visitors can approach them in Loch Long & Loch Goil.




The Cairgorns National Park is also really good. The weather here is not too rainy, not too sunny, just right. This park is the largest in Britain. This park is home to 25 per cent of Britain's threatened species and includes unique mountainous areas of wild land, moorlands, forests, rivers, lochs and glens. Sites designated as of importance to natural heritage take up 39 per cent of the land area - two thirds of these are of Europe-wide importance. This park has over 100 diffrent activities taking place in this park alone!

There are traces of people who were here 7,000 years ago, and amazingly, you can still see the remains from prehistoric, Celtic and Pictish times.

From the culture of the Celts and the Picts the clan system was born, the way of life in the Cairngorms from the 10th to the 18th centuries. Though many of the castles and townships now lie in ruins you can still hear their stories being told.

The Clan way of life was dismantled after the Jacobie uprising. Military barracks and roads were built, forests were planted, planned towns were created, new industries flourished, and the glens were emptied to make way for sporting estates and sheep. This all-changing event has clearly left its mark.

One of the biggest changes in the Cairngorms came with the railways and the Victorians’ love of the Highlands. Tourism flourished and, keeping up with the Windsors, wealthy visitors built large houses and shooting lodges, changing the landscape once again.

Where are we going? Which one do you like more and why?
We are going to the Loch Lomond National Park. I like this one more than the Cairngorms, because there's more to do in there!
